Indoor Practice Facility Fund

The Indoor Practice Facility fund provides support toward the construction of a new indoor practice facility for Redbird Athletics.

The Ed Struck and Carl D. Heldt Football Scholarship

The Ed Struck and Carl D. Heldt Football Scholarship was established to honor the commitment of Ed and Carl. Due to the impact of these two coaches, a group of former ISU players have established this scholarship and it shall be awarded annually. Ed Struck served as head football coach for over 20 years at ISU while Carl D. Heldt was part of the faculty for 22 years. This endowed scholarship will serve as legacies for future generations of Illinois State University student-athletes.

Student-Athlete Scholarship and Capital Improvements Fund

The Student-Athlete Scholarship and Capital Improvements Fund supports student-athlete scholarships, including future costs associated with capital improvements to the existing Athletics Study Center or the construction of a new study center.

Will Robinson Scholarship

This fund was established in 1994 in recognition of Will Robinson's contribution to the intercollegiate men's basketball program and the athletic department. A scholarship is given to a member of the men's basketball team with a preference given to underclassmen. An internship is awarded to a student-athlete that has completed his or her years of athletic eligibility, who has an interest in community relations, sports information an/or sports management. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. This endowment was established in 1990 with proceeds from the Doug Collins Roast and Toast in recognition of Doug Collins' contributions to the Athletic Department at Illinois State University. The scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior level student, who is a member of the men's basketball team and has made significant contributions to the team's competitive excellence. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The Doug Collins Scholarship was established in 1990 with proceeds from the Doug Collins Roast and Toast in recognition of Doug Collins' contributions to the Athletic Department at Illinois State University. The scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior level student who is a member of the men's basketball team and has made significant contributions to the team's competitive excellence.

Andrew C. Butler Endowed Scholarship

The Andrew C. Butler Endowed Scholarship was established in May 2015 in memory of Andy Butler. Andy was born May 20, 1974, in Champaign IL. Andy is the son of Don and Sheila Butler and was recently engaged to his long-time girlfriend Jamie Fox. Upon graduating from high school, he attended his beloved Illinois State University, graduating in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. Andy was an extremely successful salesperson and manager for Sprint. He was an avid golfer and sports fan, and loyal ISU Redbird supporter. He had a passion for connecting ISU alums and fans with Redbird Athletics and enjoyed attending games with his fiancé Jamie. The Andrew C. Butler Endowed Scholarship supports a member of the football team, men's basketball, or men's golf team who is enrolled in good standing at Illinois State University and demonstrates a high level of integrity and morality.

Janyth Aellig Endowed Scholarship

This endowment was established in 1998 by friends and family in memory of Janyth Ludlum Aellig to honor her contribution to intercollegiate women's basketball and women's volleyball at Illinois State University. The scholarship is awarded to a member of either the intercollegiate women's basketball or women's volleyball team. Each candidate must be or have: enrolled in good standing at ISU, demonstrated a strong academic achievement and be eligible to compete as determined by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, The Missouri Valley Conference, and the University. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. Northrip Scholarship Fund

The Northrip Endowed Scholarship is for female student-athletes majoring in education, with a preference for female gymnasts. The scholarship was established in January, 2009 by Nancy and Rob Northrip. Nancy lettered in gymnastics for the Redbirds and Rob was a Redbird cheerleader. Each candidate for the Northrip scholarship must be or have: A. Accepted for enrollment or enrolled in good standing at ISU. B. Demonstrated academic achievement, as evidenced by a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. C. Student-athlete who is female, a junior and majoring in education. D. First preference is a female student-athlete in gymnastics majoring in education. Assets of this endowment are invested in the ISU Endowment Investment Pool. The Northrip Endowed Scholarship is for a student-athlete majoring in education who is a member of the women's gymnastics team. The scholarship was established in January 2009 by Nancy and Rob Northrip. Nancy lettered in gymnastics for the Redbirds, and Rob was a Redbird cheerleader. Each candidate for the Northrip scholarship must be accepted for enrollment or enrolled in good standing at ISU and demonstrated academic achievement.

W.E. Ruebush Endowment

This fund was established in 2005 by the Ruebush Foundation in honor of Walton Ruebush, a Redbird football team captain in 1932. The scholarship is awarded to a Redbird football player. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The W.E. Benoni Green Tennis Endowment

In March 1997 the Benoni Green ('42) Men's Tennis Endowment was established with gifts of $50,000 from the friends of Benoni Green to benefit the intercollegiate men's tennis program at ISU, and to honor Benoni's lifetime contributions to the game of tennis in Central Illinois. Candidates for the Benoni Green Scholarship must be enrolled in ISU; be a member of the intercollegiate men's tennis team; and be in good standing and be eligible to compete as determined by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the Missouri Valley Conference, and the university. Assets of this endowment are invested in the ISU Endowment Investment Pool. Rollie and Mary Mercer Endowed Scholarship

The Rollie and Mary Mercer Endowed Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance for an Illinois State University football student-athlete who is currently enrolled and in good academic standing. Preference will be given to an offensive player that demonstrates a team-first attitude.

Jill Hutchison Endowed Scholarship

This endowment was established in 1997 by friends of Jill Hutchison to honor her lifetime contributions to the game of women's basketball in Illinois. The scholarship is awarded to a member of the women's basketball team at Illinois State University. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The Jill Hutchison Endowed Scholarship was established in 1997 by friends of Jill Hutchison to honor her lifetime contributions to the game of women's basketball in Illinois. The scholarship is awarded to a member of the women's basketball team at Illinois State University.

Stephen Heaton Endowed Scholarship

The Stephen Heaton Endowed Scholarship was established in 2010 by the Heaton family and Nancy Heaton in memory of her husband. Steve lettered in baseball from 1965 until he graduated from Illinois State University in 1968. He majored in business education, earning dean's list distinction six semesters. Steve dedicated his life to teaching business and coaching baseball, inspiring many students and players to pursue careers in education and coaching. Nancy is also a proud Illinois State graduate, earning both her bachelor's and master's degrees here.

Athletic Scholarship Fund Endowment

The Athletic Scholarship Fund Endowment provides general support to meet the needs of student athletes who are members of an Illinois State University intercollegiate athletic team. Students must meet the minimum academic eligibility requirements as determined by the NCAA, Missouri Valley Conference, and Illinois State University.

L. Durwood Boone Endowment

This endowment was established in 1994 by a donation from the Boone estate to recognize L. Durwood Boone's contribution to men's golf and the Athletic Department at Illinois State University. Boone was instrumental in starting the intercollegiate men's golf program at ISU. The scholarship is awarded to a member of the intercollegiate men's golf team. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The L. Durwood Boone Endowment was established in 1994 by a donation from the Boone estate to recognize L. Andrew T. Schuster and Danielle Miller-Schuster Scholarship

This scholarship was established in honor of Andrew Schuster and Danielle Miller-Schuster by Robert and La Nita Schuster. Danielle earner her bachelor's degree in political science in 1997, and master's degree in educational administration in 1998, from Illinois State. She was a "Redline Dancer" for Athletics events while a student. Andrew earned a bachelor's degree in public relations in 1992, and a master's in 1996 from Illinois State. Andrew was a catcher for Redbird baseball from 1988-1992 and lettered all four years. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Investment Pool. The Andrew T. Payton Leon Helphinstine Men's and Women's Tennis Scholarship

The Payton Leon Helphinstine Men's and Women's Tennis Scholarship was established in September 2020 from the proceeds of an estate. Payton Leon Helphinstine graduated from Illinois State University with bachelor's degree in Health Physical Education '57 and a master's degree in Mathematics '64. Mr. Helphinstine was a member of the Men's Tennis Team at Illinois State University and designated that funds from his estate be used to "establish an endowed scholarship in his name benefiting Illinois State University men and women tennis players."

Eric and Maria Boerngen Softball Service Endowment

The Eric and Maria Boerngen Softball Service Endowment was established in 2021. The scholarship Endowment provides support for a softball student-athlete. The Boerngen's were motivated to establish the scholarship due to their close ties with the softball program and their desire to give back. The award also recognizes ISU Softball and their outstanding track record of community service.

Ramsin Benyamin Endowed Scholarship

The Ramsin Benyamin Endowed Scholarship was established with a gift from Doug Collins in honor of Dr. Robert Seidl. The scholarship provides financial assistance for an Illinois State University Men's Basketball Student-Athlete who showcases significant character, commitment to community service, and high academic achievement within their chosen area of study.

Laura and Robert Garrett Endowed Scholarship Fund

This scholarship for the Redbird women's basketball program has been established in honor of Laura '73 and Robert Garrett, longtime Redbird fans and supporters. Each candidate must be accepted for enrollment or enrolled in good standing at ISU, have demonstrated academic achievement as evidenced by an accumulative GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, and be a member of the ISU women's basketball team who is committed to academic and athletic excellence. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The Laura and Robert Garrett Endowed Scholarship for the Redbird women's basketball program was established in honor of Laura '73 and Robert Garrett, longtime Redbird fans and supporters.

Larry Lyons Leadership Award Endowment

The Larry Lyons Leadership Award provides support for a student-athlete or Athletic Department staff member to a participate in a leadership conference or program to help them grow in their career and to become a leader like Larry Lyons. The Fund was established to honor retiring Director of Athletics Larry Lyons years' service and commitment to Redbird Athletics. Larry was a valued leader at Illinois State; leading the department with integrity, humility, and passion.

James R. Tague Endowed Scholarship

The Jim Tague Endowed Scholarship was established in April 2015 in memory of Jim Tague. Jim was born February 5, 1933, in Farmer City, IL. He was the son of James Harve Tague and Ethel Tague. Upon graduating from high school and a stint in the Air Force, he attended his beloved Illinois State University, graduating in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was inducted into the Illinois State Hall of Fame for football in 1990. Jim was an extremely successful insurance salesperson and adviser, having his own agency for more than 50 years. He was an avid golfer and sports fan, and a loyal ISU Redbird supporter. The Jim Tague Endowed Scholarship supports a member of the Illinois State football team who is in the final year of athletic eligibility and is a Pell Grant-eligible athlete in need of financial assistance. Candidate must also demonstrate a high level of integrity and morality.

Champions Fund

The Redbird Championship Fund supports and provides resources for needs related to celebrating and supporting Redbird Championship experiences for more than 400 Redbird student-athletes. Gifts will be used to purchase championship rings or apparel, provide tutoring support for traveling student-athletes at post-season competitions, pay for travel for post-season competitions and more. The Champions Fund supports the general operations associated with individual teams under the direction of Redbird Athletics. Eligible expenses included, but not limited to travel, scholarships, uniforms, clothing, etc.

Dr. James E. Collie Sr. Scholarship Fund

James E. Collie, Sr., widely known as "Gentleman Jim," coached Illinois State Men's basketball in the late 1950s and early 1960s, achieving 209 coaching victories at ISU. Collie was elected to the ISU Hall of Fame in 1976. Collie believed in, and enjoyed, a fast-paced, high-scoring style of basketball. Collie is remembered as a person of good humor, and for always being optimistic and upbeat; Collie had respect for his players and a love of basketball. Each candidate for a Collie Scholarship must be or have: enrolled in good standing at ISU; demonstrated strong academic achievement, as evidenced by accumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; and a junior or senior in good standing on the Illinois State Men's Basketball team. Assets of this endowment are invested in the ISU Investment Pool. James E. The Arena Locker Room Renovation Project fund assists with the renovation of locker rooms within Redbird Arena.

Weibring's contributions to the men's golf program and the Athletic Department at Illinois State University. Herschel O. Brock Endowed Scholarship

Brock Endowed Scholarship was established in 2008 by the family of Herschel Brock as a living memorial. He lived in Bloomington for 50 years and was a dedicated community leader and businessman. Throughout his career Herschel maintained close relationships with the Illinois State University men's athletic coaches and was a loyal friend of the Redbirds. The purpose of this scholarship is to supplement the educational expenses for a student in good standing on one of the University's athletic teams: men's basketball; football; men's golf; men's tennis; baseball; men's cross country; or men's track and field.

Linda Herman Scholarship Endowment

This fund was established in 2005 from the proceeds from the Joe Warner Golf Classic in honor of Linda Herman for her long and outstanding service as Redbird head volleyball coach and interim director of Illinois State University athletics. The award is given to a junior or senior volleyball player. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. This endowment was established in 2005 to honor retired Illinois State University golf coach Harland Kilborn. Funds from the endowment are dedicated to helping with golf travel expenses. Milt Weisbecker Endowed Scholarship

This endowment was established in 1990 by Doug Collins in recognition of Milt Weisbecker's contribution to the intercollegiate men's basketball program and the Athletic Department at Illinois State University. Weisbecker was instrumental in many of the department's successes, including establishing the intercollegiate men's basketball program in NCAA Division I. The scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior level student who is a member of the intercollegiate men's baketball team. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The Milt Weisbecker Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 1990 by Doug Collins in recognition of Milt Weisbecker's contribution to the intercollegiate men's basketball program and the Athletic Department at Illinois State University. This scholarship was established in 1990, and was initially funded by recipients of the Stretch Miller Award for meritorious service to Redbird athletes. The award is given to a graduate or undergraduate Redbird athlete. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. James '74 and Carole '75 Mounier were both active in Greek life while students at Illinois State University. Jim is first vice president / wealth management advisor for Merrill Lynch. Carole serves as the chair of OSF Saint Anthony College of Nursing. Both are committed volunteers and active in their community. They enjoy golf and believe the sport builds character traits that feed life-long success. They hope the student receiving this scholarship will be inspired to do his or her best at ISU and beyond. Candidates must be enrolled in good standing at ISU and serve as a scholarship player on the men's or women's Redbird golf team. Preference is given to a student with financial need. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The James and Carole Mounier Golf Scholarship was established in 2007. The scholarship is awarded to a member of the intercollegiate women's golf team, who has demonstrated a willingness to try new ideas and concepts, and has shared a love and knowledge of the game of golf with others. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. Zmudka Family Scholarship

The Zmudka Family Scholarship was established in 2018 by Robert and Irene Zmudka to provide support for a Redbird Student Athlete, from any sport, who is a child of a single parent family.

Athletic Facilities General Fund

The Athletic Facilities General Fund supports the general property, plant and equipment needs associated with facilities, including sport fields and practice areas managed by Redbird Athletics.
