Dr. James E. Collie Sr. Scholarship Fund

James E. Collie, Sr., widely known as "Gentleman Jim," coached Illinois State Men's basketball in the late 1950s and early 1960s, achieving 209 coaching victories at ISU. Collie was elected to the ISU Hall of Fame in 1976. Collie believed in, and enjoyed, a fast-paced, high-scoring style of basketball. Collie is remembered as a person of good humor, and for always being optimistic and upbeat; Collie had respect for his players and a love of basketball. Each candidate for a Collie Scholarship must be or have: enrolled in good standing at ISU; demonstrated strong academic achievement, as evidenced by accumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; and a junior or senior in good standing on the Illinois State Men's Basketball team. Assets of this endowment are invested in the ISU Investment Pool. James E.
