The Jim Tague Endowed Scholarship was established in April 2015 in memory of Jim Tague. Jim was born February 5, 1933, in Farmer City, IL. He was the son of James Harve Tague and Ethel Tague. Upon graduating from high school and a stint in the Air Force, he attended his beloved Illinois State University, graduating in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was inducted into the Illinois State Hall of Fame for football in 1990. Jim was an extremely successful insurance salesperson and adviser, having his own agency for more than 50 years. He was an avid golfer and sports fan, and a loyal ISU Redbird supporter. The Jim Tague Endowed Scholarship supports a member of the Illinois State football team who is in the final year of athletic eligibility and is a Pell Grant-eligible athlete in need of financial assistance.
