ISU Sustainability Fund
This fund is used to assist in the development of sustainability programming, as well as the installation of infrastructure that will enhance curriculum and campus operations, helping Illinois State University to further advance its sustainability efforts.
Carl Johanson Scholarship
This scholarship was endowed by Dr. Alvin and Mrs. Elaine Goldfarb and is named for Elaine's father, Carol Johanson. Elaine worked at Metcalf Laboratory Schools. Alvin served as provost, dean of the College of Fine Arts, and chair of the Theatre Department at Illinois State. Johanson was born in Sweden. His formal schooling ended early due to the death of his parents. The scholarship recognizes the need to help those like him complete their education. Each candidate must be a full-time civil service employee who has at least two years of continuous service at, and is working toward a degree or diploma from, the University; has achieved at least junior status (including master's and doctoral students), and has a college grade point average of "C" or above. A recipient may be awarded a maximum of two one-year scholarships. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The purpose of this fund is to support the Fell Arboretum and associated expenses.
ISU Civil Service Scholarships
The Illinois State University Civil Service Council awards financial assistance to the dependents of Illinois State University civil service employees who are attending Illinois State University. The awards are made possible through funds presented by the Illinois State Foundation through the Foundation Board's annual budgeting process. Additionally, faculty, staff, retirees, and others may make contributions to the Civil Service Scholarship Restricted Fund. Awards will be presented at the discretion of the Civil Service Council, generally in the amount of $500 each ($250 per semester).Candidates must be a child living in the household and/or be a dependent of a full-time ISU Civil Service status employee, be a full-time student working toward an undergraduate degree or diploma, and have a grade point average of “C” or above in high school and/or college. Financial need will be considered. A recipient may be awarded a maximum of two one-year scholarships. The Illinois State University Civil Service Council awards financial assistance to the dependents of Illinois State University civil service employees who are attending Illinois State University. Contributions for this fund are raised by the civil service council and the same requirements apply. Awards will be presented at the discretion of the Civil Service Council, generally in the amount of $500 each ($250 per semester).Candidates must be a child living in the household and/or be a dependent of a full-time ISU Civil Service status employee, be a full-time student working toward an undergraduate degree or diploma, and have a grade point average of "C" or above in high school and/or college. Financial need will be considered. A recipient may be awarded a maximum of two one-year scholarships.
Bansau Fund For Accessibility Needs
Margaret Bansau's will included a statement that the income from her trust was to be used for scholarships for physically disabled students, for facilities for physically disabled students, for scholarships for students who intend to teach physically disabled students, or for any one or more of these three purposes. Given Bansau's intentions, distributions from this fund will be used to establish the Bansau Trust Endowment Fund to provide resources for other Foundation restricted funds that provide funding to address disability concerns campus-wide, including the Bansau Fund for Accessibility Needs. The Bansau Fund for Accessibility Needs provides support for the creation and maintenance of physical plant facilities that address the accessibility needs of students and others with disabilities. The fund was created following the distribution of Margaret Bansau's will. Annual income from the Bansau Endowment is split between three different areas, one of which is the Bansau Fund for Accessibility Needs.
