Information Systems Development Lab Fund

The Information Systems Development Lab Fund was established in 1993 to support expenses associated with set up of two new School of Information Technology Labs. Funds may also be used toward future technology needs and physical upgrades of the Labs.

School of Information Technology General Scholarship Fund

The purpose of this fund is to provide educational support to undergraduate and/or graduate students majoring in any program within the School of Information Technology. The purpose of the School of Information Technology Scholarship Fund is to provide educational support to undergraduate and/or graduate students majoring in any program within the School of Information Technology.

Integrity Technology Solutions Endowed Scholarship Fund

Integrity Technology Solutions was established in 1993 by cofounder Harlan Geiser. Over the course of 20 years, Harlan's leadership and vision resulted in the business growing from a small, privately owned start-up IT company to a multi-million dollar organization with 38 employees in 2013. In celebration of Integrity's 20th anniversary in 2013 and in honor of cofounder Harlan Geiser, the company established the Integrity Technology Solutions Endowed Scholarship. It is awarded annually to a School of Information Technology student who shares Integrity's entrepreneurial spirit and value of community.

Jan Cook Scholarship

Under the leadership of Carol Chrisman, this endowment was established by colleagues and friends to honor Janet M. Cook in 2001. She was a founding member in the School of Information Technology, taught from 1968-1998, and was an expert on computer security. Each candidate must be enrolled full-time as an information technology major, have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours at ISU immediately prior to application for the scholarship, have earned at least six hours of information technology coursework (including one programming course), and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0/4.0. Preference will be given to women and minorities. Service as a volunteer campus or community committee member is also a consideration. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. School of Information Technology Distinguished Student Scholarship

The School of Information Technology Distinguished Student Scholarship was established in 2018 by Barbara O'Malley to provide support for a student accepted for enrollment in the School of Information Technology at Illinois State University.

The School of Information Technology General Fund provides support for the activities, programs, and operations, including named commemorative scholarships and awards, of the department.

Carol and Gerry Chrisman Information Technology Scholarship

The Carol and Gerry Chrisman Information Technology Scholarship was established in 2023 to provide financial support to students majoring in the School of Information Technology.

Mark J. Cyphert School of Information Technology Scholarship

The Mark J. Cyphert School of Information Technology Scholarship was established to support students majoring in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or Networking & Telecommunications Management. Preference given to transfer students.

School of Information Technology Excellence Fund

The School of Information Technology Excellence Fund was established in 2016 to provide unrestricted funds that enable the School to remain relevant and on the cutting edge. The fund supports the highest priority initiatives and is critical to advancing the national reputation and excellence of the School of Information Technology or as otherwise designated by the Director of the School.

Jim Knisley Memorial Scholarship for Mainframe Excellence

The Jim Knisley Memorial Scholarship for Mainframe Excellence was established by his close friends and family in his memory. Jim had a long and successful career working on IBM mainframe technology at several companies including BMC Software and IBM. He was also very service oriented, serving in the US Navy, as an EMT, and participating in medical mission trips to Haiti. This scholarship will go to a Sophomore, Junior or Senior that has a deep interest in the mainframe, but also embodies Jim's passion for community service.

Johanson Internship Support Fund

The Matt and Sue Johanson Diversity in Technology Fund was established in 2017 by Matt and Susan Johanson. This is a multi-year award providing financial assistance for educational expenses to students accepted for enrollment or enrolled in the School of Information Technology at Illinois State University.

State Farm Chair in Cybersecurity

The State Farm Chair in Cybersecurity in the School of information at Illinois State University provides dedicated resources for recognizing a faculty member in, or attracting to the ISU Campus a valuable new member, in Cybersecurity. Proceeds from the endowment may be used for (but not limited to) salary support, graduate assistants, equipment, and other teaching, service, and research activities in Cybersecurity.

COUNTRY Financial School of Information Technology Scholarship

The COUNTRY Financial School of Information Technology Scholarship was established by COUNTRY Financial in order to support students majoring in the School of Information Technology.

Larry Brumbaugh Scholarship

The Larry Brumbaugh Scholarship was started in 2015 in honor of Dr. Brumbaugh. The scholarship provides support to a student accepted for endorsement or enrolled in good standing in the School of Information Technology at Illinois State University.

Integrity Technology Solutions Cybersecurity Scholarship

The Integrity Technology Solutions Cybersecurity Scholarship was established in 2019 to support students enrolled in Cybersecurity at Illinois State University. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need with a commitment to community engagement.

David Kephart Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Information Technology

The David Kephart Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in August 2011 as a tribute to Dave's legacy and strong commitment to the School of Information Technology at Illinois State University. Dave was a professor in the Applied Computer Science Department for 18 years. During that time he taught a larger variety of classes than any faculty member in the history of the department. While at the University, he was involved in many major consulting projects, often working on-site for corporate clients in Central Illinois and the Chicago area. He also taught seminars and courses for business and government clients. The purpose of this scholarship is to help School of Information Technology majors through financial assistance.

Roger and Joyce Eads Information Technology Scholarship

The Roger and Joyce Eads Information Technology Scholarship was established to provide scholarship for those students studying in the School of Information Technology.

Krishnamurthi Family Scholarship

The Krishnamurthi Family Scholarship was established in 2018 by Venkatesh Krishnamurthi. The scholarship provides support for a junior or senior student majoring in Information Technology. Preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need.
