Winifred G. Lawrence Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The Winifred G. Lawrence Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in memory of Winifred Gillen Lawrence. Ms. Lawrence was an accomplished teacher and counselor for students with special educational needs at the Board of Cooperative Education Services, Yorktown Heights, New York for 27 years. She was well recognized by both her students and colleagues for her expertise in serving students with special needs. Because of Ms. Lawrence's dedication to education, her personal commitment to self-improvement, and the need for trained medical professionals, her family established this scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide support for a College of Nursing student who has demonstrated potential for personal and/or professional leadership, through service as an Illinois State University student leader, with preference given to candidates who are Mennonite College of Nursing student leaders.
