Urban Teaching Scholarship College of Education
The Urban Teaching Scholarship was established in 2008 by anonymous donors. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support for a senior student who is committed to urban teaching. Each candidate must: A. Be a full-time senior student and education major with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application. B. Be doing student teaching in an urban area. C. Be planning to teach in an urban setting following graduation. D. Submit an essay that discusses the candidate's commitment to urban teaching and the importance of urban education. E. Submit at least two references from a faculty member or other individual familiar with the student's commitment to urban education.
