Thomas D. Wilson Award
This endowment was established in 1996 by Thomas Wilson. Tom started teaching political science at Illinois State University in 1961 and retired in 1992. During the 1960's he was active in starting anti-poverty projects in the community. From 1970-72 he was co-chair with Elwood Egelston of the Academic Senate committee on community and campus programs. Tom and his wife, Kay, have two sons. The spirit of the award is to recognize exceptional performance and/or to create opportunities for students to take internships in areas outside of the Bloomington-Normal community.
