Michael A. Lorber-Stella V. Henderson Kappa Delta Pi Scholarship
In the 1940s, the Stella V. Henderson Memorial Award was established by gifts from Kappa Delta Epsilon, Kappa Delta Pi¿Mu Chapter, and friends of Stella Henderson, an alumna and an advisor to Mu Chapter. In 2009, the COE dean decided it was appropriate to review the award and process, and to follow current award and scholarship practices. The decision was made to honor the most recent and long term advisor of Mu Chapter, Professor Emeritus Michael A. Lorber, and to rename the award. The purpose of the fund is to encourage members of Mu Chapter, Kappa Delta Pi, to think about how they can implement the honor society's ideas. Two scholarships will be awarded annually as funds are available, ideally one for a graduate student and one for an undergraduate. Candidates must be or have been an active member of Mu Chapter, Kappa Delta Pi, at ISU; submit an essay; and plan to become a teacher. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. In the 1940s, the Stella V.
