Marcia Escott Hickrod Scholarship Award for Nontraditional Students
This fund was established in 2009 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to adult learners in the master's degree program in college student personnel administration at Illinois State University. Hickrod began her career at Illinois State in 1966 as a faculty member in the English Department and later became the coordinator for academic advisement for the University. She completed her Ph.D. in educational administration while working full time and being a single parent, retiring in 1993. Each candidate for this scholarship must be enrolled in good standing and have completed at least nine credit hours in the program, be a nontraditional student, and submit an essay and a letter of reference. Preference will be given to part-time graduate students.
