Lesley Van Ness Back-a-Bird Scholarship Fund
The Lesley Van Ness Back-a-Bird Scholarship Fund is established to honor the life and legacy of Lesley Van Ness, a proud Illinois State University alumna and accomplished journalist whose career reflected professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to student mentorship and experiential learning. Scholarship: To provide financial assistance for students meeting the following criteria: - Scholarships will be awarded for the following term: One-Time Award - Student must be enrolled at Illinois State University, with preference given to students majoring in Journalism or those actively involved with TV-10 programming. - Funds may support scholarships, internships, and experiential learning opportunities such as student travel for competitions and professional development activities, including conferences, networking, and certifications. - Student demonstrates financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
