John Freed Undergraduate Research Fund

To establish a fund broadly supporting research in the Department of History, such as but not limited to the following: conference attendance, travel expenses for archival research, or costs associated with procuring materials. Awards or disbursement is to be determined by the Department chair. A Department Faculty Status Committee (DFSC) summary report of fund expenses will be prepared by the Department Chair and shared with the Donor once per academic year. Priority will be for undergraduate research, but fund can also be used for graduate student research or faculty research. If fund generates more money than can be used for research needs, Department chair may also use this fund to support undergraduate and graduate student needs, including but not limited to emergency funding, books, fees, etc.
