Jepsen International Scholars Program Endowment
This scholarship was established by Keith Jepsen and his wife Kathleen Dore. Following the attacks of 9/11 they wondered what they could do to support international understanding, and decided that the only long-term solution to the problems in the world is international education. Keith earned two degrees from Illinois State University, a B.S. in business teacher education in 1967 and an M.S. in counselor education in 1968. He has more than 45 years of experience in higher education in the international, national, state, and university levels. He was inducted into the College of Education Hall of Fame in 2010. Kathleen currently serves as the senior advisor, vision and strategy, for consulting firm Proteus International. Their hope is that this fund will encourage future teachers to experience different cultures while they are students.
