Franzie Loepp Endowed Scholarship to Support Technology and Engineering Education
The Franzie Loepp Endowed Scholarship to Support Technology and Engineering Education helps attract high school seniors who desire to become technology and engineering teachers. Franzie Loepp joined the Department of Industrial Technology faculty in 1970. He progressed through the ranks, became the department's first university-wide distinguished professor, served as department chair, and retired as director of the Center for Mathematics, Science and Technology in 2003. As a technology educator, his major area of research was in middle school integrated mathematics, science, and technology curriculum development. Over the years, his research received $5 million in funding from the State of Illinois Department of Education and the National Science Foundation.
