Family and Consumer Sciences Professionals of McLean County Senior Award
The McLean County Home Economists in Homemaking club was established in 1961. The club later honored Florence Davis, chair of the Home Economics Department at Illinois State University, by sponsoring an outstanding senior award in honor of her retirement. The club has undergone a number of name changes over the years, from the original name to the Professional Home Economists of McLean County in 1975, and to Family and Consumer Sciences Professionals of McLean County in 1999. The faculty in each sequence of Family and Consumer Sciences nominate outstanding senior candidates, and a candidate from Teacher Education is also nominated. One candidate from this pool of nominees is chosen for this award.
