Erma Mae Liddle Borchers Endowed Scholarship
The Erma Mae Liddle Borchers Endowed Scholarship was created in memory of Erma Mae Liddle Borchers in August 2011 through gifts from her husband, Warren Borchers; their children, Stephen Borchers and Lorita Borchers; and many friends and family. Erma graduated from the Mennonite College of Nursing in 1948. She enjoyed a diverse career in nursing that spanned 44 years. She was a life-long learner who continued her education by receiving her bachelor's degree in health services administration in 1982 and her certificate of rehab nursing in 1984. Erma was known as an innovator, encourager, mentor, and teacher. She never forgot the foundations taught to her at Mennonite College of Nursing. The purpose of this scholarship is to offer financial assistance to nursing students who have demonstrated financial need, with special emphasis given to students pursuing bedside or rehabilitation nursing.
