Eric Tapley, BSN Heartland Emergency Specialist, LLC Endowed Scholarship
Eric Tapley was recruited to Illinois State University to play football. He was a three-year starter, graduated in 1983 with a degree in physical education, and received a B.S. in nursing in 1997 from Mennonite College of Nursing. Eric pursued a career in emergency nursing at Advocate BroMenn Regional Emergency Department in Normal, OSF Saint Francis Emergency Department in Peoria, and OSF Saint Joseph Emergency Department in Bloomington. He was a wonderful, cherished emergency nurse who helped save hundreds of lives. Eric also founded the Nothin' but the Blues Fest in Bloomington-Normal, and he was involved in many community organizations and boards. The Eric Tapley BSN--Heartland Emergency Specialists, LLC Scholarship was established in 2010 by Dr. Thomas Nielsen and Dr. Kathryn Bohn in Eric's honor. The scholarship provides financial support for Mennonite College of Nursing students at Illinois State University.
