Dr. Fred Kagy Endowed Fund for Professional Development in Graphic Communications
The Dr. Fred Kagy Endowed Fund for Professional Development in Graphic Communications helps cover educational expenses such as tuition, professional development, or travel expenses to support a positive outcome related to an internship experience for a student majoring in Graphic Communications. Dr. Frederick D. Kagy was recognized, not only in Central Illinois, but nationally and internationally as a craftsman, educator, author, mentor, consultant, printer, and photographer. He was hired by Illinois State University in 1965 as the coordinator of the Graphic Arts Instruction program in the Department of Industrial Technology (now named the Department of Technology). Family, colleagues, and friends established this endowed fund as a tribute to his legacy and his strong commitment to the professional development of students majoring in Graphic Communications at Illinois State.
