Betty and Ron Kinser Endowed Scholarship Fund
Betty and Ron Kinser joined the Illinois State University family in 1965 after Ron became a candidate for a Master of Science degree in English. Ron earned his master's in 1966 and Betty earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Illinois State University in Art Education in 1973 and 1975. After teaching in public school for a few years, Betty joined the faculty at Illinois State as a lecturer in 1977 in the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts. Betty served the College in many roles until she retired in 2005. Betty was appointed to serve as a Trustee of Illinois State University in 2006. During the course of their retirement, Betty and Ron were both positively impacted by the care and treatment received while patients at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center following a period of separate illnesses. The constant presence of Illinois State nurses during their treatments is what inspired the family to create the Ron and Betty Kinser Endowed Scholarship for Nursing Students.
