9496 Redbird Scholarship in Public Relations

This scholarship was established to stimulate and encourage excellence in Public Relations. This award is made possible by the Andersons who earned their bachelor’s degree in Public Relations (1994) and master’s degree in Communications (1996) from the School of Communication. The Andersons encourage not only academic excellence, but also the importance of active involvement within the Redbird community. To provide financial assistance for students meeting the following criteria: - Student must be enrolled in the following major: Public Relations - Student must be an Illinois resident. - Student must be initially be selected as a Freshman, the award is renewable in subsequent years if renewable criteria are met. - Student must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale in high school. - The applicant must submit an essay (maximum 300 words) explaining why he/she chose to attend ISU and future career goals. - For renewal: A cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 must be maintained all the subsequent years. - For renewal: Ongoing extracurricular involvement at ISU is required. This will be assessed by student club involvement demonstrated with active participation in club meetings and events.
