The Multicultural Center Enhancement Fund supports the activities, programs and operations associated with the Multicultural Center at Illinois State University. Through critical programs, services, and scholarship the Center will foster and affirming campus environment for all to thrive.
Danny Mathews Memorial Scholarship
The Danny Mathews Memorial Scholarship is being established to honor the memory and legacy of Danny Mathews. The goal of the Danny Mathews Memorial Scholarship is to recognize members of the Illinois State Community who seek to make transformative change on-campus or in the community for LGBTQIA+/Queer people through civic engagement and social justice work.
Dr. André McKenzie/Mayo Loving, Jr. Spirit of Student Engagement Scholarship
The Dr. André McKenzie/Mayo Loving, Jr. Spirit of Student Engagement Scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate student at Illinois State University who demonstrates exceptional dedication to the mission and work of a recognized chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). This scholarship honors students who embody the values of leadership, commitment, and engagement within their respective NPHC-recognized organization or governing council. Awardees exemplify the spirit of leadership and student engagement that Dr. André McKenzie and Mayo Loving, Jr. embodied in their time at ISU and beyond. - Must be an active member of an NPHC-recognized chapter at ISU. - Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. - Must qualify for financial assistance as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. - Must submit an essay (300 words or less) detailing their work, commitment, and engagement with a recognized NPHC organization or governing council. - Must provide a letter of recommendation that acknowledges their contributions in advancing the goals and initiatives of the NPHC community.
