Nikita D. Richards Perseverance and Civic Engagement Scholarship

The Nikita D. Richards Perseverance and Civic Engagement Scholarship was established by Nikita to help assist students who, like her, experienced socioeconomic challenges, and who are utilizing their time at ISU to fulfill their purpose in life. She has committed her life to being civically engaged at the local, state and national level and encourages all Redbirds to get involved and make a difference on our campus and in our community.

Collins-Crowder Miller Legacy Fund

This fund was established to help reduce financial barriers and to provide financial support to the students and programs within the Center for Civic Engagement. This includes internships, alternative breaks, service learning, and community service.

The Mores/Williams Alternative Break Support Fund

Alternative Break supporters’ alumni Tammy Mores and Scott Williams (decd.) understand the positive and lifelong impact this program can have on Illinois State University students. This fund is open to any enrolled student and offers partial or complete fee waivers to offset Alternative Breaks trip costs. It is intended for students who want to participate but cannot afford to without financial assistance as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and/or the fiscal agent.

COUNTRY Financial Center for Civic Engagement Scholarship

The COUNTRY Financial Center for Civic Engagement Scholarship was established by COUNTRY Financial in order to assist students who are completing a capstone internship for the Civic Engagement and Responsibility Minor.

COUNTRY Financial Center for Civic Engagement Fund

The COUNTRY Financial Center for Civic Engagement Fund was established by COUNTRY Financial to support programming including but not limited to Deliberative Dialogue, and to support student awards and faculty and staff stipends to explore community related work and projects approved by the Center for Civic Engagement, as it relates to the Community Resilience Index.

The Dr. Aja C. Holmes Alternative Breaks Fund

As a former Alternative Breaks participant, Dr. Aja C. Holmes understands the positive and lifelong impact this program can have on ISU students. Her fund is designed to offer partial fee waivers to offset Alternative Breaks trip costs for students who want to participate but cannot afford to without financial assistance.

Alternative Breaks Support Fund

The Alternative Breaks Support Fund provides financial support for the activities essential to the growth and enhancement of the programs and services provided through Alternative Breaks offer through Illinois State University.

Center for Civic Engagement

The Center for Civic Engagement was started in 2016 to strengthen Illinois State University's commitment to the value and importance of civic engagement. The Center brings coordination and a shared purpose to the numerous civic engagement efforts occurring across the University as well as to create new opportunities, supporting in-class and out-of-class learning experiences that partner with the community. The Center for Civic Engagement fund supports the activities, programs and operations of the Center.
