Agriculture Professional Development Fund
The Agriculture Professional Development Fund provides financial support for professional development opportunities for faculty and staff in the department.
Horticulture Center
The Horticulture Center Fund provides support for the activities, programs, and operations of the Horticulture Center in the College of Applied Science and Technology. The Center provides a focal point and support for horticultural instruction and scholarship at Illinois State, as well as public demonstration and outreach.
CoBank Fund for Agriculture
This fund was established by CoBank for the purpose of agriculture education, research, and promotion of the continued advancement of American agriculture. CoBank is a national cooperative bank headquartered in Denver, serving vital industries across rural America. The bank provides loans, leases, export financing and other financial services to agribusinesses and rural power, water and communications providers in all 50 states. CoBank is a member of the Farm Credit System, a nationwide network of banks and retail lending associations chartered to support the borrowing needs of U.S. agriculture and the nation's rural economy. In addition to serving its direct retail borrowers, the bank also provides wholesale loans and other financial services to affiliated Farm Credit associations serving approximately 70,000 farmers, ranchers and other borrowers in 23 states.
Excellence in Agriculture Fund
This fund was created through the generosity of an anonymous alumnus to support the educational opportunities of students within the Department of Agriculture in the College of Applied Science and Technology at Illinois State University.
Department of Agriculture General Fund
The Department of Agriculture General Fund was established in 1973. The fund provides support for the activities, programs and initiatives, including named commemorative scholarships and awards, in the department.
University Farm Fund
The Agriculture Special Projects Fund supports the general operations, programs, and activities, including improvements to the University Farm at Lexington.
Drs. Margaret and Harold Balbach Endowment
The Drs. Margaret and Harold Balbach Endowment Fund was created in December 2015 for the purpose of supporting Horticulture Education programs at Illinois State University.
John W. Green Agriculture Scholarship
The John W. Green Agriculture Scholarship was established with a major gift from John W. Green in 1982. This endowment fund is to be used for recruiting, preferably freshmen students majoring in agriculture or agri-business. It may also be awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior student. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The John W. Green Agriculture Scholarship was established with a major gift from John W. Green, emeritus professor of agriculture, in 1982.This endowment fund is to be used for recruiting, preferably freshmen students majoring in agriculture or agribusiness. The award may also be given to a sophomore, junior, or senior student. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University endowment investment pool.
Clarence and Mabel Ropp Scholarship Fund
This endowment was established to honor the Ropps for their dedicated service to education, agricultural endeavors, and Illinois State University. The scholarship is awarded to a community college graduate with preference to those with a farming background. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The Clarence and Mabel Ropp Scholarship was established to honor the Ropps for their dedicated service to education, agricultural endeavors, and Illinois State University. David E. Baker "Ag Leader of Tomorrow" Scholarship
The David E. Baker "Ag Leader of Tomorrow" Scholarship was established in 2020. The scholarship supports students majoring in Agriculture with preference given to incoming freshman or transfer students who have participated and held an officer/leadership position in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and/or 4H while in high school.
Clarence Moore Scholarship
This endowment was established in 1990 by family, friends, and colleagues of Clarence Moore. The scholarship is awarded to a student admitted as a freshman or transfer student in the Department of Agriculture with a preference to those with an emphasis in dairy science. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. Illinois Soybean Association Endowed Support Fund
The Illinois Soybean Association partnered with Illinois State University in August 2005 to establish this endowed fund. This fund is to be used to support research and education within ISU and the Department of Agriculture. Specifically, this fund will be used to support the activities and programs designed to recruit critical faculty and researchers and serve as an incentive for those already working to address needs related to soybeans and soy products. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The Illinois Soybean Association partnered with the Department of Agriculture at Illinois State University in 2005 to create the Illinois Soybean Association Endowed Support Fund in the Illinois State University Foundation. The endowment supports agricultural research and education in the University and the Department. Funds may be used toward activities and programs designed to recruit critical faculty and researchers and serves as an incentive for those already working to address needs related to soybeans and soy products.
Al and Trudy Schrader Agriculture Scholarship
The Al and Trudy Schrader Agriculture Scholarship was established in 2015. Al and Trudy made contributions to all of the universities in the state of Illinois that had agriculture programs. While not Redbirds or having any direct connection to ISU they wanted to provide for additional learning benefits towards agriculture. The Al and Trudy Schrader Agriculture Scholarship supports a student who has been accepted for enrollment or enrolled in good standing at Illinois State University as either an undergraduate or graduate student who is majoring in any degree program within the Department of Agriculture.
The Dr. Fred Fuess Student Scholarship
Roger Boerma and Cindy Boerma established the Dr. Fred Fuess Student Scholarship Fund in December of 2021. This fund was established to assist students majoring in Agriculture with a focus in Crop and Soil Science.
COUNTRY Financial Agriculture Scholarship
The COUNTRY Financial Agriculture Scholarship was established by COUNTRY Financial in order to support students majoring in Agriculture.
Dr. John Gary Erisman Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. John Gary Erisman Memorial Scholarship was established in 2017 by Dr. Allen Erisman. The scholarship supports a student accepted for enrollment or enrolled in good standing in Agriculture in the College of Applied Sciences and Technology at Illinois State University. Preference is given to a student who plans to pursue a career in farming. Scholarship may also be awarded to a student who plans to work in an agriculture related industry.
McLean County Farm Bureau Scholarship
This endowment was established by the McLean County Farm Bureau. The scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman from McLean County majoring in agriculture. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The McLean County Farm Bureau Scholarship was established by the McLean County Farm Bureau in 1984. The scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman from McLean County majoring in agriculture.
Dan Kelley Family Scholarship in Agriculture
Daniel T. Kelley is a 1970 graduate of the Department of Agriculture at Illinois State University. He is the recipient of the Holbert Award, the highest award bestowed on an individual by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Dan assumed the position of Chairman of the Board of GROWMARK, Inc. in September, 2000.He is a long time member of the Agriculture Alumni Association and served as President from 1984-1986. He then became President of the ISU Alumni Association. Dan and his wife, Pam, operate a grain farm near Normal, Illinois, with his two brothers and son. Their three children are all Illinois State grads. The Kelley Family Scholarship will be used to support education related expenses of undergraduate and graduate students majoring in degree programs within the Department of Agriculture. Stephey Agriculture Scholarship
The Stephey Agriculture Scholarship was established in 2017 by Warren Stephey. The purpose of the award is to assist students majoring in Agriculture at Illinois State University.
Jim McKee Scholarship
This endowment was established in 1986 by Doris and Ralph Chambers, the niece and nephew of M. M. Chambers. It was established in honor of Jim McKee, a long-time friend of Chambers who took special care of him in his later years. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in agriculture who has completed at least 30 credit hours. The student must possess an interest in advancing the ag profession. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. Jill Walker Memorial Agriculture Scholarship
Paul Walker established this fund in memory of his wife, Jill Gutshall) Walker '89, B.S. Agriculture, following her death in 2006. Jill was an active community member serving on numerous boards and as an officer in several associations. Each candidate must be enrolled in good standing, be an incoming freshman with a declared major in agriculture (with a preference to animal science, agronomy, and agriculture education), and have at least a 3.0 / 4.0 high school GPA. Financial need will be a special consideration. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. Paul Walker established this fund in memory of his wife, Jill (Gutshall) Walker '89, B.S. agriculture, following her death in 2006. Jill was an active community member serving on numerous boards and as an officer in several associations.

The Agriculture Faculty Scholarship was started in 1993 by the agriculture faculty to provide scholarships to students majoring in agriculture.
The Dr. Kristian "KP" Philpotts Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. Kristian "KP" Philpotts Memorial scholarship was created by his mother, Marla Rice, in memory of "KP". He was on his way to becoming a veterinarian before his life was tragically taken due to gun violence. "KP" had a love and passion for caring for animals his entire life and this scholarship will help other students fulfill their dream of becoming a veterinarian (preferred); a student who wants to work closely with animals; or a student in the general agriculture field.
Benton K. Bristol Scholarship
This endowment was established by Benton Bristol, a faculty member in the Illinois State University Department of Agriculture for 21 years. This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in agriculture or agribusiness. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. The Benton K. Grady Agriculture Scholarship
The Grady Agriculture Scholarship was established by Anne Grady in order to assist students students majoring in Agriculture Business, Agronomy, or Crop and Soil Sciences defray the cost of their education.
Kathy and John Rennick Graduate Research Scholarship
To establish an award supporting research for graduate students in Agriscience. The funds can be used, but not limited to: support of graduate student research needs, conference fees, and travel costs to attend conferences.

This endowment was established in 1995 by the Agriculture Alumni Association. The scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman or transfer student based on academic achievement in the Department of Agriculture. Harvey S Woods Scholarship
The Harvey S. Woods Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 in memory Harvey S. Woods. The scholarship supports a student majoring in Agriculture in the College of Applied Science and Technology. Harvey Woods was chair of the Ag Department from 1957-1970.
Paul A. Funk Scholarship
The Paul A. Funk Scholarship provides financial support for students in the College of Applied Science and Technology majoring in Agricultural Science, Food Industry Science, Food Industry Management, Agriculture-Agribusiness and Agriculture Industry Management.

Mrs. Cecil Sommer established this endowed scholarship in memory of her father, Harold Enns and her husband, Cecil Sommer. They each had a lifetime commitment to agriculture. Harold Enns was the first president of Prairie Farms Creamery located in Bloomington. Cecil Sommer farmed in central Illinois over a long period of time. Scholarship applicants must be majoring in agriculture or agribusiness. Assets of this endowment are invested in the Illinois State University Endowment Investment Pool. Marjorie J. Sommer established this endowed scholarship in memory of her father, Harold Enns and her husband, Cecil Sommer. They each had a lifetime commitment to agriculture. Betty Norris Fairchild Agriculture Scholarship
The Betty Norris Fairchild Agriculture Scholarship was established by Barbara Levine in memory of her mother who had a love of the land and was a master gardener. This scholarship will provide financial assistance to a student enrolled as an Agriculture major.
Agriculture Technology and Equipment Fund
The Agriculture Technology and Equipment Fund was established in 2017 to support the purchase of new equipment and technology in the Department of Agriculture as determined by the Department Chair.
